Having decided to make these vacations more productive I have started learning more about UNIX shell scripting. The command line interface can prove daunting…however, a complete mastery over shell scripting is sure to make you a lot more productive.
I have grabbed a copy of the book “Unix Power Tools” by O’Reilly, and am trying to follow it.
I use the Mac OS’s terminal to practice shell scripting. As is advertised Macs run on UNIX and not on GNU (GNU’s Not UNIX).
However one can do shell scripting on Linux OS as well…a few commands change (many of them just have a “G” before the original name)
